Review:
While most movies that pit people against horrific alien, after a series of cheap imitations Aliens, Pitch Black stands as a fine piece of Sci-Fi, and a great movie all around. Perhaps my favorite aspect of the film is the lighting. This film works great many different colors, shades and intensity of light that set the mood and provide a unique feel for the film itself, something other than normal lighting cinema, we usually are. Vin Diesel brings his character to life in the highest way, skillfully avoiding routine that hardened criminals. After all, film Riddicks (diesel type) personal way, so luckily not Win the ball drop. The rest of the cast (with the exception of the talented and beautiful Claudia Black) were unknown to me, but turned in an excellent performance, various animation characters with unique quirks and mannerisms. Pitch Black is a perfect example of creating a movie with our resources over budget. Special effects are more than enough, but at the same time they are anyway not the point, as in many big budget blockbusters. It is a great movie because it uses fiction as a way to tell an engaging, provocative story rather than tell stories using indirect flash fiction.
