Review:
I find it ironic that Gerard Butler, a Scot, a disgraced Secret Agent Mike Banning, includes the Spirit of John McClane Bruce Willis do more than in the last terrible race. If anything, Butler has done nothing to strengthen, as his reputation as a bankable action and sympathetic hero for a new generation in a film this old-school action. He has a presence that governs on-screen quips wisecracks, significant bleeding, and dissolves the bad guys on a regular cross between Jason Bourne and John Rambo. Not even a fine supporting actor (Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, Melissa Leo, Dylan McDermott) can take limelight.Indeed Butler, Antoine Fuqua's Olympus is to not just entertaining, but a great reminder the 90s important action films fall, Die Hard clones - and the movie (Die Hard in the White House) is another reminder of why the formula works reliably, although it has been inactive for almost two decades (the last great , e be good for Peter Hyams Sudden Death).
