Review:
Ah, The Usual Suspects. My personal favorite movie of all time. Not my bias be a fool. Maybe not the best movie ever, but I never get tired of.If you like flash and bikinis and breath-taking camera angles, you will not find them here. Usual Suspects is not epic, and it does not pretend to be. Its a modestly budgeted slice of fresh director (who later went on to make X-Men movies, a far departure). Great, gritty script, beautifully acted characters, and what many call the greatest movie ending of all time, some of the brilliant qualities that make protest The Usual Suspects worthy of praise over his humble appearance shell. The casting is very unusual but somehow fits perfectly. Gabriel Byrne is convincing as the ex-con trying to build a new life when he takes drawn back to his old life. Stephen Baldwin has the role of his career as a smart-mouth and cocky professional. Kevin Pollak takes a departure from his usual good comedy in itself to take a more dramatic role. Benicio del Toro takes literally a one-dimensional character with absolutely nothing in the script to give it character, and he fleshes it with bright gestures and memorable mumbling show incredible acting creativity. Kevin Spacey as we know it was born out of this movie. Is his behavior and fast-talking yet shy gimp nature a pleasure to listen to the flick.Without give the plot, the best and most brilliant part of the film's subtleties. When you see the end, the truth hit you like a ton of bricks, you have to look at it again. On the second time through, you will get to jump up and touch the screen when you select a clue you missed the first time. It is also possible to watch the movie several times and see something new every time you look. Its the attention to detail that makes the seemingly innocent appearance Usual Suspects one of the greatest movies of all time.
